I recently reinstalled Chrome for Windows on my Windows 8 Pro RTM machine after a reinstallation of the operating system. For some reason, Chrome no longer loads in "Metro" mode when I'm in Windows 8. Instead, it sends me to the Desktop and loads in desktop mode. Is this a feature change, or a bug?

Hi Ron! Assuming you're on the Dev channel (Chrome 23), this is a feature change; if you're on the Stable or Beta channels (Chrome 22), you must simply not have set Chrome to be your default browser. A browser must be the default to present in Windows 8 mode.

If you're in Chrome 23, you can launch Chrome into Windows 8 mode in the Chrome menu - there should be an option that says something like "Relaunch Chrome in Windows 8 mode." Chrome will remember your choice.

Cheers,

That's what I needed to know. I'm on the dev channel and Chrome is already my default, so you explained it perfectly! Many thanks!
