What does the notifications panel do? Is it like the G+ notifications panel on the Google nav bar or does it also include things like Gmail, Calendar, and system notes?

I'd like to know as well what is the notifications panel for? I don't receive any notifications in it.

I'm also seeming to have a problem with 3G connectivity on this update. I have to reboot my CR48 to use 3G; the 3G doesn't work or even show up as an option after waking the computer from sleep. And since I'm on a trip, this is rather inconvenient (okay, I know this is dev mode after all).
